Summer is finally here – or is it?
Picture explanation: The Festival Summer of 2010 is here!
First of all I have to declare that my hearing capacity is considerably down since yesterday’s one day festival. When I heard that Slash was coming to play I had little choice but to buy a ticket.. I don’t think I could live knowing that I passed on the opportunity to hear Paradise City with Slash on the guitar and amazing Myles Kennedy on vocal. If you would happen to close your eyes you could actually believe that it was Guns n’ Roses in it’s original form once again. Sure, I don’t think Slash’s new album is the best ever but the man is a legend.
The band that I (surprisingly) liked the best yesterday was Volbeat. I have come across them several times but never really “loved” a show – yesterday was different though. Since I saw them last time they have been on tour with Metallica which makes it seem a lot distant from when I came in as Ms. Y-Town for free at their after party. Anyway, they are always high energy and extremely crowd friendly, proven by the fact that they often join the crowd after each show. Right after Volbeat it was Rammstein that took the stage… The singer entered in some kind of black sperm-suit with zip fasteners and red feathers around his neck, not to mention the light in his mouth? Personally I find that their music is fairly good but the show is nothing for me. Sure, they’ve got lots and lots of fire and fireworks but is that what rock is about?
Other bands that I cared to see yesterday were Skunk Anansie, Bullet for my Valentine and little of Shotgun Revolution. For the first time in my festival history it didn’t rain! Let’s just hope the weather stays all right next weekend when it’s Deftones time, YEAH!
Right now it’s time to get back to reality and work but on Saturday I am heading for Gothenburg with my sis to see Green Day. Last time it was one of the best shows I have ever encountered…
Have a rocking Thursday;
